John was always so generous with his time and his talents.He enriched the lives of so many of his pupils and friends.His legacy will live on in the many areas he was interested in.In memory of a remarkable teacher who's vocation shone   through in everything he did.     Greatly missed by his many friends.
Christopher John Shaw was born in Birkenhead in April 1944, and was thereafter always called John.  He  went to Oxford University in 1963, studying English Language and Literature.   By the time he graduated with a first class degree in 1966 John had decided he wanted to be a social worker.John and Angela met in October 1966..
A major feature of Helen's life was helping others, particularly those less fortunate than herself. For Christian Aid she took part in the yearly collections, went on sponsored walks and supported the In Their Lifetime programme, as well as specific appeals. She was also involved in several projects of the United Reformed Church in Sunderland.
Eric life to the full and dedicated his life to full time church work.
In memory of Pamela Iris Hillier
Sadly Frank passed away on 8th May 2021. He had a full and happy life and is greatly missed by family and friends, who have many happy memories of him.  Frank was a loyal supporter of Christian Aid and during his life he helped organise many fundraising events for the charity.  If you wish, you may make a donation to the charity in his memory here.
Kit was a voice for truth, honesty and justice. She came from a small mining village in Lanarkshire to marry Alan. Together for over sixty years they worked as youth workers before Alan was ordained. After raising Martin, Laurie and Hilary she became a social worker in Lancashire and was respected by both staff and clients.
Ken was so generous and never refused someone who asked him to give.A loving father, grandfather  and great grandfather.
Ruth was a keen gardener, who enjoyed growing her own fruit and vegetables to feed her family, as well as being a regular collector for Christian Aid.  A donation towards an agriculture project will enable others to feed their families in the same way.
During her long life Claire touched many lives, from her early life in Guyana through her work in the UK as a nurse, midwife and health visitor, Marriage Guidance and her deep involvement  in  her local church in Pannal.Despite her pain and physical problems caused by osteoarthritis Claire never stopped fighting to live life to the full.
My sister  Judith Cunliffe-Jones , in the course of a routine day got into her car and abruptly suffered a brain haemorrhage. She was rushed to hospital - where our father and brother visited her. She did not recover consciousness and died at 9.15 last night. She was 56.It is deeply shocking to lose someone in their mid 50s.
